'The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero' Epilogue for Pokemon DLC Revealed

Nintendo has officially announced the upcoming release of an exciting epilogue to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, titled "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero." This announcement comes on the back of the second part DLC, The Indigo Disk just last week. Perhaps we'll get some closure on story lines that have been speculated on since release.

Spoiler Alert: A Glimpse into The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Epilogue

Note to Readers: The following section contains spoilers for the ending of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Skip to the Key Details section later in this article if you don't want to be spoiled.

The newly released trailer for "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero" provides hints about what players can expect. Following the conclusion of the base game, where players journeyed to Area Zero with characters Arven, Nemona, and Penny, this epilogue seems to weave an intriguing continuation of that adventure. The trailer intriguingly starts in the player's home, with their mother hinting at one final adventure.

The focus then shifts to Kitakami, a familiar location from the base game's Teal Mask narrative. This time, however, the scene includes the player's avatar alongside Arven, Nemona, and Penny. The trailer intentionally leaves much to the imagination, showing no dialogue beyond this point and leaving viewers to speculate why these four characters have reunited.

The Mystery of the Mythical Pecha Berry

Adding to the intrigue, the trailer features a moment where Arven and Penny are seen pointing at something in the sky, though what they are pointing at remains a mystery. The trailer culminates with a tease of an item, believed to be the Mythical Pecha Berry, which could be connected to a new Pokémon.

How to Catch Pecharunt

While we don't have confirmation just yet, the end of this trailer strongly hints that the highly speculated Pokémon, Pecharunt, will be available in this epilogue event. Pecharunt is assumed to be a part of the Loyal Three Pokémon from the Teal Mask portion of the latest DLC. Fans were going as far to speculate that Kieran might even be possessed by this Pokémon!

Until now, Pecharunt was datamined to be available in the base game; however, we were unable to determine how to catch this Pokémon. The added details from the latest trailer offer some strong indications.

Epilogue Key Details and Release Information

With all this exciting information, we can't wait to get our hands on what appears to be the final portion of the Paldea story.

When Does "The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero" Epilogue Release?

"The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero" is set to launch globally on January 11, 2024, at 14:00 UTC (6am PT/9am ET/4pm CEST).

What Do I have to do to Play the Epilogue?

Importantly, players must have completed not only the main game and its postgame but also the narratives of The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk stories to access this epilogue.
