Super Mario Bros. Wonder Drill Mushroom Overview
The Drill Mushroom is one of the three new power-ups introduced in Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
As you'll see throughout this article, the Drill Mushroom will play an integral part in gameplay, changing how you'll interact with the environment, break special blocks, and even sneak past enemies!
What Does the Super Mario Bros. Wonder Drill Mushroom Power-up Look Like?
The Drill Mushroom Power-up resembles the classic Mario franchise mushroom with a drill on top of it's head, rather than the traditional mushroom cap.
Drill Mushroom Power-up Abilities
The Drill Mushroom adds a new element of gameplay that completely changes how you'll interact with the Super Mario Bros. Wonder environment. Lay waste to spiky enemies, drill through special material, and sneak through levels!
Drill Through Spiky Enemies
The Drill Mushroom allows Mario and friends to quickly defeat normal and spiky enemies! Traditionally, spiky enemies are more difficult to deal with; largely due to their dangerous exteriors. With the Drill Mushroom, however, you'll have no problem stomping past each one on your way to claim your Wonder Seed at the end of the level!
Ground Pound Drill-Down into Special Materials
Throughout your adventures exploring the new levels of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, you'll inevitably come across a new obstacles and challenges. Among the new obstacles, we've seen a special material that will require the Drill Mushroom to move past.
Who knows what's hidden past these segmented-off areas!
Burrow Past Enemies
The Drill Mushroom Power-up also gives characters a new way to traverse through levels. After drilling into the ground, characters are able to sneak past enemies and even pop-up to deal damage!
This is an entirely new dynamic to the classic side-scrolling adventure that we've personally very excited for.
