Get ready, Sonic fans! Sega just unveiled a fresh trailer for their hotly anticipated 2D sidescroller, Sonic Superstars, during June's Nintendo Direct event, giving us an exciting peek into what's coming.
Sonic Superstars is making waves by introducing a series-first feature: four-player local co-op on a single system. You and your friends can team up, taking control of different characters, each bringing their unique abilities to the mix. The trailer promises thrilling teamwork as you join forces to take on foes and overcome tricky platforming challenges.
First announced earlier this month, Sonic Superstars aims to delight us with levels that harken back to the classic 2D Sonic experiences we all love. But there's more – a plethora of bonus levels and mini-games are sprinkled throughout to spice up your journey.
Producer Takashi Iizuka has given us some insights into the innovative game design of Sonic Superstars. He assured fans that this collection of levels would feature entirely new experiences, breaking away from traditional Sonic settings like the Green Hill Zone. Instead, we can expect a suite of brand-new levels, each flaunting its distinct visual style.
So whether you're a PC gamer, prefer to play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, or love your Nintendo Switch, Sonic Superstars is sprinting your way. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure with our favorite speedy hedgehog, set to land in late 2023!
