Nintendo Reschedules Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 3 World Championships
The World Championships for both Splatoon 3 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe have been delayed from their original slot in December 2023, per Nintendo of America. They were slated to take place at the Nintendo Live 2024 event in Tokyo; however, the event was cancelled after Nintendo cited safety concerns for the event.
When are the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 3 World Championships?
Earlier today, Nintendo announced both the Splatoon 3 World Championship 2024 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Championship 2024 events will be held on April 13th and 14th 2024.
Concert Events Rescheduled After the Initial Postponement
The decision to reschedule comes after the original event, Nintendo Live 2024, was cancelled in December 2023 due to safety concerns. This postponement also affected the The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon concerts, which have now been reorganized.
These free concerts are set to stream on the official Nintendo YouTube Channel. The The Legend of Zelda Orchestra Concert is scheduled for an early start at 5am PT / 8am ET / 1pm GMT on February 9, followed by the Splatoon 3 concert on February 10.
