Mortal Kombat 1 Nintendo Switch Developers: Different Teams, Different Outcomes

The people behind the Nintendo Switch port are different from those who worked on the versions for other platforms, which might explain the variations in quality. NetherRealm Studios focused on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S editions, QLOC developed the Steam and Epic versions of the game, and Shiver Entertainment / Saber Interactive took the reins for the Switch.

Graphics and Performance: Why Mortal Kombat 1 Switch Falls Short

Graphics and performance seem to be the hot-button issues for players. Even though no one was expecting a visually spectacular experience akin to what PS5 or Xbox Series X/S offers, the extent of graphical and performance downgrades has caught many by surprise. Frame rate and resolution issues have been some of the main gripes.

Mortal Kombat 1 Switch Price: Is It Worth $70?

A critical discussion point is the price. The Nintendo Switch version is priced at $70—equivalent to what other platforms charge—despite offering an experience that many deem inferior. In the UK, however, the game is £5 cheaper for the Switch, raising further questions about pricing consistency.

Mortal Kombat 1 Switch Reviews: Where Are They?

Current-gen versions for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 have been met with high praise, holding Metacritic scores of 88 and 86 respectively. The Switch, however, has received only a handful of reviews, and they've largely been negative.

Missing Features: What Happened to Invasions Mode on Switch?

It appears that the Invasions Mode, a key single-player feature that was well-received on other platforms, is incomplete in the Nintendo Switch version. Warner Bros. Games assures players that the full mode will be made available in the coming weeks.

Mortal Kombat 1 on Switch: Should You Buy Now or Wait?

If you’re considering purchasing Mortal Kombat 1 for your Nintendo Switch, the advice for now seems to be caution. For die-hard fans who only own a Switch, overlooking the existing issues might be feasible. However, if you have the option to play on another platform, it might be wise to hold off until the game's problems are sorted out.

There it is: everything you need to know about Mortal Kombat 1 on Nintendo Switch. The publisher promises to resolve the issues soon, but for now, the caution flag is out. Let's hope they right the ship soon.
