Let's jump back 25 years to June 29, 1998. That's when we first met Banjo and Kazooie, two fun characters who made their debut on the Nintendo 64 game console. Banjo, a friendly bear, and Kazooie, a chatty bird who lives in Banjo's backpack, were an instant hit. They had to save Banjo's sister, Tooty, from an evil witch named Gruntilda.
After their first game, Banjo and Kazooie didn't disappear. They popped up in other games, too. In 2000, we saw them again in "Banjo-Tooie," which was like the first game but with new twists. Then in 2008, they showed up in "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts" on the Xbox 360, where the focus shifted to driving and building vehicles.
Perhaps the biggest moment came in 2019 when Banjo and Kazooie joined the roster of "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate." This was a big deal because only the most beloved characters make it into that game.
So, here's a shout-out to Banjo and Kazooie. Even after a quarter-century, these two characters are still loved by gamers all over the world.
