Nintendo revealed their plans to bring the SNES classic, Super Mario RPG, to the handheld-console hybrid of the Nintendo Switch. Earlier rumors hinted at the forthcoming revelation, and Twitter user Pyoro_ND, known for accurate predictions, confirmed the announcement of a remake of a SNES classic.
The trailer for the remake showcased the original game in its 2D pixel art form before transitioning into charming 3D animation. The visual upgrade maintains the game's essence. Super Mario RPG tells the tale of Mario and Peach teaming up with Bowser, as well as new characters Geno and Mallow, to rescue the Mushroom Kingdom from Smithy's clutches.
