Toho Towa's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie", currently screening in cinemas, has announced a landmark achievement. As of July 30, the movie's box office returns in Japan have crossed 13.39 billion yen, elevating it to the second spot in Japan's domestic box office history for Western animated films.
Consequently, it has ascended to the 14th place in the cumulative box office rankings for all animated films screened in Japan and 25th in the all-time box office rankings for all movies released in Japan (according to data by Koko News as of July 30).
