If - like us - you haven't been able to stop binge playing The Indigo Disk since it's release less than 48hrs ago, there's a good chance you'll be able to relate to this article. Today, we're spending some time reviewing the innovative Synchro Machine feature. Game Freak absolutely knocked it out of the park on this one; put simply we have two words: Pokémon perfection.

Let's see what all the fuss is about.

Experience the Pokémon World Like Never Before with the Synchro Machine

The Pokémon Indigo Disk DLC for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet brings an innovative feature that's got everyone talking: the Synchro Machine. This intriguing device allows players to play directly as any of their favorite Pokémon, offering a fresh perspective on the Pokémon world.

How to Get Your Hands on the Synchro Machine

To access this groundbreaking feature, players need to embark on a mini quest. You'll need to find Synclaire in the Central Plaza of The Indigo Disk Terrarium, located near the Pokémon healing machine.

She'll guide you through a couple of experiments, which include synchronizing with a Pokémon of your choice and completing simple tasks like moving to a specific location and engaging in battles. Upon completing these tasks, the Synchro Machine is yours to use anytime.

The Synchro Machine: A Step-by-Step Guide

Using the Synchro Machine is straightforward:

1. Ensure the Pokémon you want to control is leading your party.

2. Release it from its Poké Ball using the ZR button.

3. Activate the Synchro Machine by holding the L button and pressing R.

4. Voila! You're now experiencing the world through your Pokémon's eyes!

Reverting back to your trainer is just as easy: simply hold L and press R again.

As your Pokémon, you can explore the Terrarium, engage in wild Pokémon battles, and pick up items. However, there are limitations: you can't switch Pokémon, interact with trainers, or jump while synchronized.

Where Can You Use the Synchro Machine?

It's important to note that the Synchro Machine's magic is confined to the Terarrium of The Indigo Disk DLC. You won't be able to use it in other regions like Paldea or Kitakami.

Player Experiences with the Synchro Machine

This feature adds a whole new dimension to the Pokémon experience. Across social media, we can see creative players soaring from mountaintops as a Charizard, or even "skating" around the Terrarium as a Gholdengo in an unexpected Tony Hawk x Pokémon "crossover". On the surface, the exploration possibilities are almost limitless, unlocking a completely new way that we play the game.

The Synchro Machine not only adds a novel gameplay mechanic but also deepens the bond between trainers and their Pokémon, as you literally see the world from their perspective.

Our personal favorite so far? The Spongebob music meets Toedscool running mashup that we didn't know we needed in our lives. Thanks to UltimaShadowX for this masterpiece.

Final Thoughts

The Synchro Machine in Pokémon's Indigo Disk DLC is a more-than-welcomed addition to the Pokémon franchise, and we hope its something that will be implemented in future titles. The ability to play as your favorite Pokémon not only adds a layer of immersion to gameplay, but creates a new sense of exploration and connection with your team.
