We've been eagerly awaiting the release of Metroid Prime 4 for some time now, and news has been sparse...to put it lightly. But, all hope is not lost. There might be a light at the end of the tunnel (at least if you believe the latest rumors).

New Partnerships and Playtesting Insights Shed Light on Metroid Prime 4 Development
The partner in question is Next-Gen Dreams 3D, a studio known for its work with big names like Ubisoft and TakeTwo, specializing in creating stylized trailers.
Notably, their portfolio includes a trailer for TakeTwo's game Judas. Intriguingly, the head of Next-Gen Dreams 3D has listed Retro Studios in their professional profile, dating back to September 2022.
Behind the Scenes with Quality Assurance
Adding to the intrigue, a LinkedIn profile belonging to Edwin Atwell, a game tester and quality assurance developer, has surfaced. It reveals that Atwell has been engaged in playtesting a demo of Metroid Prime 4 for the past ten months, employing Jira, a project management and bug-tracking software.
This is the same individual who has contributed to the release of several major Call of Duty titles.
Recent Metroid 4 Remarks and News
While this latest rumor adds to the Metroid Prime 4 release speculation, this isn't the first update we've seen pointing towards progress.
In August of 2023, Nick Baker, co-founder of XboxEra, shared some insight on Metroid Prime 4 through an Xbox-focused podcast. Baker likened the Metroid Prime 4 scenic experience to the expansiveness of the Halo Infinite environment, which would be a welcomed addition to the Prime franchise.
Speculations on an Upcoming Metroid Prime 4 Reveal
The discoveries made by SuperMetalDave64 have led to speculations about a potential upcoming announcement or reveal for Metroid Prime 4. However, given the lengthy wait since the game's initial announcement over six years ago, it's advised to temper expectations.
As of now, Nintendo's official release schedule still tags Metroid Prime 4 with 'To Be Announced' (TBA), leaving fans to wait for further official news. Could this be a potential Nintendo Switch 2 release title, or are we in for an official announcement during the next Nintendo Direct? Who knows.
For now, all we can do is speculate and wait. But, it's been seven years since the original announcement; we're pros at this point!
