A New Digital Experience in Pokémon TCG Pocket
In a statement from The Pokémon Company's Chief Operating Officer, Takato Utsunomiya, excitement surrounds the transition of Pokémon cards into digital format. Since their initial release in 1996, Pokémon cards have captivated players worldwide.
This new game, developed in collaboration with Creatures Inc., the original creators of the Pokémon Trading Card game, and DeNA, known for their work on Pokémon Masters EX, aims to continue that legacy in a modern format.
Pokémon Pocket Planned Features and Gameplay Details
Yuji Kitano, president and CEO of Creatures Inc., highlighted the game's innovative features, which are detailed below.
Immersive Cards
The Pokémon Company has always taken great care to provide the TCG experience in the best way possible - ranging from high-quality card materials to striking graphics. Pocket looks to continue more of the same, but expand upon the experience in a brand new digital format through the use of Immersive Cards.
Players will be able to almost step into the experience, and "see through the window" that we've all known for almost 30 years, since the TCG's inception in 1996.
Streamlined Battle System
Additionally, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket introduces streamlined game rules for quick and accessible battles, perfect for fitting into the busy schedules of today's gamers.
Two Free Pack Opens
To sweeten the deal, players will receive two packs of digital cards daily at no cost.
This exciting announcement came during a Pokémon Presents showcase, which also teased Pokémon Legends Z-A, a new adventure game for the Nintendo Switch expected in 2025.
