It's no surprise that Nintendo's firmware updates are relatively straightforward at this point of the Nintendo Switch's lifecycle. As the console continues through its sixth year of operation, it's clear Nintendo is keeping the majority of new features close to the chest. As more and more rumors pop up with each passing day, it feels more likely that Nintendo is looking to sunset the Nintendo Switch and begin moving towards the next iteration of their flagship console.

Nintendo Switch Firmware Version 16.1.0 Update
The latest firmware update, Version 16.1.0 has just gone live as of August 21 and is the first firmware update for the Nintendo Switch since May 2023. Version 16.1.0 marks the fifth Nintendo Switch update of 2023. According to the official Nintendo support page, this update contains the following:
