Nightdive Studios, a leading name in video game remasters and a subsidiary of the iconic Atari, has teamed up with Lucasfilm Games to launch Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster on several platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. This release breathes new life into the classic title, leveraging Nightdive's proprietary KEX engine to deliver the game in up to 4K resolution at 120FPS on modern gaming systems.
The remaster was announced late last year and promises an enriched experience with improved gameplay mechanics, high-definition textures, superior lighting, and rendering, as well as console gamepad support, including unique features tailored for different platforms.

The retro 1995 original set a new standard for first-person shooters, offering expansive movement, a variety of items and power-ups, and immersive environments. Now available on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo for the first time, the remastered Star Wars: Dark Forces invites both new players and long-time fans to dive into its upgraded universe.
Players take on the role of Kyle Katarn, an ex-Imperial turned Rebel operative, to thwart the Empire’s Dark Trooper Project and its formidable battle droids and power-armored stormtroopers.

Players will face ground combat against twenty enemy types with a arsenal of ten weapons at their disposal.
The game's visual fidelity has been significantly enhanced, supporting up to 4K resolution at 120FPS on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It also features modern gamepad support, introducing a new weapon wheel, rumble feedback, and motion/gyro controls, along with achievements and trophies available on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
