The much-anticipated (and literally fought-over) "Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat" promo card is set to make a comeback in the Netherlands. This February, local gaming stores across the country will receive 100 copies each of this exclusive promo to distribute among their customers.
However, there's a catch: to be eligible for one of these coveted cards, customers must spend a minimum of 30 euros on Pokémon TCG merchandise.

Trading Card Price Implications
This development comes as a surprise to many, especially after last year's cancellation of the promo distribution at Amsterdam’s Van Gogh museum due to issues with scalping (video in next section).
This news has already started to ripple through the European Pokémon TCG community, causing a noticeable dip in the card's price on Cardmarket, Europe's primary platform for trading card games. Interestingly, this price adjustment has not yet been mirrored on TCGplayer, its American counterpart.
The Background of the Pikachu Van Gogh Promo's Popularity
The original release of the "Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat" promo at the Van Gogh museum was met with overwhelming demand, leading to swift and severe scalping issues. This forced the museum to implement strict limitations and eventually led to the cancellation of the promotion.
In an unexpected turn, the promo was briefly available on PokemonCenter.com but was quickly sold out.
