For fans of the beloved Legend of Zelda series, Nintendo has brought forth a delightful surprise by releasing two classic gems - The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons - on their Nintendo Switch Online service. Originally released for the Game Boy Color in 2001, these two interconnected titles, developed by Capcom in collaboration with Nintendo, have garnered immense popularity over the years. Now, with their inclusion in the Nintendo Switch Online library, a new generation of players can explore the enchanting lands of Holodrum and Labrynna, and embark on epic quests filled with puzzles, dungeons, and time-traveling adventures.

A Tale of Two Realms

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons present two distinct yet intertwining narratives. In Oracle of Ages, players take on the role of Link, who finds himself in the land of Labrynna, where he must navigate through time to thwart the ambitions of the sorceress Veran. As Link travels between the past and the present, the seasons change, altering the landscape and creating new opportunities for exploration.

Conversely, in Oracle of Seasons, Link finds himself in the land of Holodrum, where the seasons are in disarray due to the malevolent General Onox. With the power of the Rod of Seasons, Link can manipulate the seasons at will, unveiling hidden paths and uncovering secrets within the vast world.

Unique Gameplay and Interconnectivity

What sets these games apart is the interconnectivity between them. Upon completing one game, players receive a password that can be used to carry over certain items, secrets, and plot elements to the other game. By doing so, a new storyline emerges, and the overall gaming experience becomes richer and more rewarding. This innovative feature was a hallmark of the games' design, allowing players to experience a unique narrative that changes based on the order in which they tackle the two adventures.

Classic Zelda Gameplay and Puzzles

Fans of the Legend of Zelda series will feel right at home with Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. Both games adhere to the classic Zelda formula, where players explore vast overworlds, solve intricate puzzles in dungeons, and battle formidable foes. The hallmark puzzles of the series are present, from pushing blocks and finding hidden passages to unlocking the power of various items.

When Can You Play?

Both games are set to launch on July 27th, 2023.
