Magic Meets Reality: Zelda Fan Creates In-Game Calculator

Have you ever imagined building something spectacular inside your favorite video game? In "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" (TotK), players are doing just that. Drawing inspiration from the construction brilliance seen in games like Minecraft and Roblox, they're creating some pretty amazing things in TotK. Believe it or not, some have even built working computers within the game!

Take c7fab, for instance, a developer who plays TotK. He created a working 1-bit calculator. That's right—a tiny computer that can do math, all within the virtual world of TotK. In a video, he demonstrates how this calculator can add 1 + 0 or 1 + 1. Just like your trusty calculator, but inside a video game!

But how did he do it? Well, c7fab used mirrors and a gate—a sort of virtual door that can open and close—to build his calculator. Speaking to Kotaku, a popular gaming site, community member and programmer, Zenni, mentioned his belief that with no building limits, players could even make a full working calculator in TotK. Isn't that awesome?
